AN ALGORITHM FOR PRELIMINARY HEO ORBITAL PARAMETER DETERMINATION BASED ON THREE OPTICAL POSITIONAL MEASUREMENTS

An algorithm of preliminary HEO orbital parameters determinations based on three optical positional measurements is described. The algorithm is a union of the Gauss three optical measurements based initial orbit determination algorithm and the Bettin-Gauss algorithm of orbit determination based on two radius vectors spaced at a significant angular distance within one orbit. Results of the algorithm for real examples are presented as well as proposals for the algorithm implementation in different tasks.
